On February 14, 2006 fifty sign-wavers lined Bishop St, a main thoroughfare in the heart of downtown Honolulu. Hawaii’s Lieutenant Governor, a state senator, and a city councilman mixed with professionals, students and families to give appreciation to passers-by. Downtown Love was an exploration into how generosity and encouragement could be multiplied through the twisting of a defined campaign or protest form.
